Satinised Bud

A macro of the bud of a bearded iris in the garden. The extra shows how the petals all just hang out once the flower has bloomed but are tightly wrapped in the bud.

It was the RPS Travel Group AGM this morning followed by the announcement of the Travel photo of the Year and the Best of the Best Travel photo of the month for 2024. Janey Devine then offered a presentation entitled The life and death of a photographic project. I'm sure it was very worthy but poor sound quality meant that I heard very little of it.

In the afternoon after Len had gone to tennis, I spent time in the garden photographing flowers.. Notwithstanding that I had cut two flower heads off the rhubarb a week ago, it had put forth buds again. I removed them but not before the flower had shed either pollen or seed when I shook it.
