Diary of an Edinburgher

Food market!

Well done me! I've done four lots of ten minute stints on the bike. Ten minutes doesn't sound like much, but it's a killer. I used to do half an hour at the gym no bother (several years ago) then 20 minutes was a struggle. But I can set up my iPad and distract from the pain with 'Homes Under the Hammer' or some such trivia. Actually, the pain is not so much my knees, or my thigh muscles, but my rear end! Even with a cushion.

I remember we hired bikes for three days in Amsterdam once (back in the heady days when I could ride a bike…) but after the first day out and about, we had to walk the next day with the bikes and give them back - we just could not sit on a saddle any more! So, hopefully, I'll get more used to it. Or else - a bigger cushion!

Later, I cut the grass, while JR went off down to Stockbridge. I was slightly tempted, but on a sunny Sunday, with the market on, I knew it would be mobbed. Even the bus was mobbed - JR had to sit upstairs on the way back.

I watched the Women's football final. One of the teams won...

JR enjoyed her trawl round the shops and the market. She took Archie out again when she came home.
