Sedulbahir

Today I visited all the British landing beaches and military cemeteries on Cape Helles from 1915. My blip is taken at the cape just above Sedulbahir and the British V beach where the death toll on the morning of April 25th now seems almost unbelievable.

My blip shows the entrance to the Dardanelles. Just behind me is the Helles Memorial to more than 20,500 soldiers and seamen who have no known grave. Among them I found the name of one of my ancestors.
