Water Transport
It was a chilly grey morning on Porty beach as we gathered for a 8am gambol in a calm sea. I was rather surprised that I was there at all having had a bad night sleep wise. Daughter #1 had rocked up at the Dower House in the early evening yesterday at my request on a money laundering task and she brought with her two small bottles of cider. Yes, the slippery slope of mild decadence before bed time and an early start this morning. So unused am I to company and alcohol at that hour that my brain sees no reason to shut down as I lay my head on the pillow. Two hours of tossing and turning and I eventually got up and made some hot chocolate. A cup of that has been know to do the trick and eventually it did, but took its time. Wakening up 2 hours later and fearful of turning over and not getting up in time for the bus, in Princes Street , I elected to snooze my way through the next few hours . I have to admit I got to the bus stop without being aware of much.
The sun made it through the clouds as we got dressed after our swim and I was back in the real world thanks to the shock of cold water. I noticed the two modes of water transport through the early greyness.
The cruise ship was leaving Leith as the paddle boarder was making his way into the beach further along the prom from us. The sea conditions were perfect for paddle boarding, a calm sea and no wind.
It has turned once more into a lovely hot patio day but I would be lying if I told you I had experienced every single moment of it without finding my eyes resting from time to time.
