Long weekend blues

Slept pretty badly. I think I woke up a lot because of the gardening and raking yesterday. And, when I did get up, I couldn’t help but notice that a) Mrs. Ottawacker and the plum of our loins were nowhere to be seen, and b) that I wasn’t in a very good mood. Not even a quick perusal of the 130ers defeat in the FA Cup final could alter the fact. It all improved as time went by, however, and by the time they returned (from a Costco trip, nonetheless) I was fine.

Which is more than can be said for the weather. Yesterday’s threats of storms had materialised and the rain was falling steadily from a blackened sky. At least it is good for the newly sown grass seed.

Thankfully, the mood improved completely by the time I had to take Ottawacker Jr. to his goalkeeping practice, hang around while he did it, and then take him immediately thereafter to his team’s practice. This sort of means you are going to be subjected to blips of football for the next couple of months, but if I have to endure it – so do you. Actually, I only endure it when the weather is Baltic – as it was today; normally, it’s all pretty good fun.

Anyway, I dropped him at the team session and then went home to start cooking dinner. I found an unused turkey breast from Christmas at the back of the freezer, so we had that, with additional trimmings.
