Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail

What a thoroughly lovely amble along the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway trail we had today. Perfect weather with beautiful sunshine, about 20°C, not a breath of wind and a load of shady trees to walk beneath.
I was a bit dubious about sound this walk but my 83 year old mother decided that she could manage it so off we set.
It took us a while, but as we were in no rush at all, it didn’t matter a jot.
We had plenty of rests to read the signposts and information boards that were scattered along the trail and when we got to Threlkeld, there was a welcome coffee shop that we made use of for some refreshments.
The bus was very handy for our return and we arrived back in Braithwaite in time for a short afternoon nap!
If you’ve never done this trail, I’d definitely recommend it - it’s largely flat, a good walking surface, lovely scenery, plenty of bird song, dippers, wagtails and even a deer.
