Marjorie's ramblings

The end of the walk

If I didn’t tell you, you would be forgiven for thinking that these two are merry after a few drinks.

Ray and Henry are both on non alcoholic drinks in the pub garden of The Crown in Humshaugh this afternoon. I’m glad to say that they were not singing either!

I led a 7.5 mile walk from Simonburn in glorious sunshine. It wasn’t too hot so it was great walking weather.

To my embarrassment, I temporarily mislaid the route. Everyone was very nice while I wandered around and looked for the correct way to go. Arghh!

We saw the Goat Stones, a four stone stone circle from the Bronze Age and walked over the almost unknown burial site towards Goatstones Farm. There are about 30 burial cists but few can be identified now.

It was a grand day out.
