Arlo lunch

James was asleep by 9.30 and Thomas even earlier. When we woke at 7 James was already up, dressed, had breakfast and put his plate in the dishwasher. They gave us hugs and departed for school, taking their keys as they’d be home after we’d gone but before the parents got back.

We packed up, stopped at B&Q to get more tester paint pots, and drove to Gosforth to park up then take the metro into town. We tried to get walking trousers at Rohan but it was hopeless - they were all horridly hot synthetic fabrics. Mr C just got some cheap cotton ones in M&S where I got done orange towels for the bathroom. I got a pair of Teva sandals in Cotswold. We got Euros and then took the metro to West Jesmond for lunch. Long Friday wasn’t open so we went to Arlo. It was delicious - see blip.

Daughter let me know their flight had got in to Edinburgh at 2.10 so they were able to get a train at 3.30 which meant it was safe for us to get off home. They were home by 5.30 so it wasn’t too long for the boys to be on their own.

It’s another lovely sunny day here. All the town walking amounted to 2.5 miles and my knee hurts. I feel my hamstring pulling as well.
