Peonies on the Turn

Yesterday these peonies were bright pinkish red. Today several petals are a paler pink.

For some reason, two areas in the flowers appear grey. I must investigate. Ah, that area was burnt out by sunlight. Nothing I can do I fear.

Basil and I Ceclilied down to the marketplace this afternoon for me to post a letter and card to Auntie Pat in the States. She's my sole surviving aunt out of a total of seven. Then we stopped in at The Flower Lady for a decaf latte for me and a period for Basil of being off his lead and enjoying Roo's company.
