Dark and Stormy

..Night.

An emergency blip. Night had fallen and egad!.I did not have a photo of any kind to post. Maggie was not in the mood to have her pix taken, so  a quick snap out the back door will have to do.

The big event of the day was my doctor visit. Test results were back about my hip x-rays and the ultrasound on my shoulder and it was consultation time.

The hip results came back as I expected..only moderate arthritis which really doesn't explain the issues with my walking; The problem then may be my damaged lower back discs which have deteriorated so badly. Not much can be done about them, but the doctor suggests an assessment of my gait and physio to build core muscles which could help my walking.

The shoulder was a different matter.  Six different issues in the shoulder! Six! Yikes! Who knew? I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised; during my hospitalization and recovery, all the focus was on bone!  I can understand that being the case for the orthopaedic surgeon, as they tend to see you as a skeleton, but surely another doctor along the way at some time would have thought to look for soft tissue damage? Geez.

So what now? I am being sent to a shoulder clinic where all aspects of my injury will be investigated and treated, not just the broken bone part. I know recovery was to take a year, but methinks it might have helped to have this information a long time ago and get these issues addressed earlier?

Oh well, better late than never...
