Intrepid Early Morning swimmers

It seems that this might be the last day of the good weather and with that in mind it was worthwhile tripping down to Princes street to catch the 6am bus to the beach. I persuaded a fellow swimmer to join me and then another three Bluebird ladies appeared so there 5 of us laughing and hollering in the sea as the billowy waves bounced us up about. The sun shone down from a beautiful blue sky and there was the gentlest of an off shore breeze to keep the wave size down. It was all wonderful and a great start to the day.

A quick bus ride home on an X26 bus which runs early in day to the West End in Edinburgh for office workers.  I was back home at 8 o’clock for a quick shower and then had a trip into town to take back yesterday’s impulse buys. When I returned to the Dower House I was in time to hand Son#2 a pair of secateurs to trim the Boston Ivy which had designs on invading the wall  space of the flat above.
He’s apparently on holiday today because it’s the King’s official birthday- who knew that?  The needful was accomplished from atop the step ladder before we sat and chewed the fat in the sun.

After a rather hasty lunch it was off to the Art College to meet up with the Maggies’ Kitchen Table group  before another meeting late in the afternoon with the neighbours for our TGIF drinks. It’s been a full on day and I’m whacked…. but in a good way.
