He’s happy!

I couldn’t sleep till gone midnight, despite Melvyn Bragg’s dulcet tones. Then I woke at 5.15, having had a dream featuring HazelH who had hosted an enormous party in a library covered in pink and orange flowers. People milled about, plates overflowing with food, while Hazel felt faint with exhaustion. I wanted to make her tea but couldn’t find teabags as the flowers covered everything.

So the washing was out by 7.45 and dried quickly in the SW wind.

Mr C set to with his paint brush while Ailie and I set off for Cragside. We walked round both lakes then had a coffee. (Only 1.5 miles as I need to be good and for some reason the knee is as bad as ever). By then people were struggling to find parking space. Some parked in disabled spaces which makes me cross. I reminded them to display their disabled passes.

When we got back Mr C had finished the walls and we think the Pavilion Grey looks great.

Friend Carol messaged to say she’d bought a new sofa and got 2 new cushions which cost £139 each. (Yes that’s the cushions not the sofa). I responded by telling her I was trying to persuade Mr C to shell out for a new loo brush for our nice new bathroom.

Nathaniel had his football awards evening and here he is. (This isn’t his award - it’s Newcastle United’s caribou cup). I messaged Graham in London to ask him to make sure his team, Fulham, won their last match of the season.

We are invited with Katy and Colin over to Phil and Carol’s for a drink later. She’s recently had a spa holiday in Vietnam so she’s looking forward to showing us her photos. Apparently there are hundreds. Oh for the pre-digital age.
