Finishing
Chris and Sarah finished their Hundred in 28 hrs 54 minutes. Here is Sarah arriving at HQ and you can see Chris’s reflection in the window. They were both smiling but very sore as they got into the car. Back to the cottage for Radox baths and a nourishing meal before an early night :-)
We weren’t sure exactly when they would finish, so couldn’t go too far today, but D was keen to visit Parham Airfield Museum. This tells the story of Framlingham USAAF Station during WW2. The 390th Bombardment Group flew B-17 Flying Fortresses between 1943 and 1945. 740 young men were killed during those two years. The extra shows Merry sitting with me and looking at their names.
The museum was run by very enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. There was so much information that I found it hard to take in. Also I think Merry and I picked up on some bad energy. It was a stressful visit for us both.
Time for bed now, and I am thinking of all those walkers still out there, on their second sleepless night, still putting one tired foot in front of another…
