I drove down to Salford this morning for a guitar lesson with Paolo. We’ve missed a few recently, so we’re doing four lessons in six days to catch up a bit.

After that, I went into town and met the Minx for lunch, which we bought from a new Vietnamese café near the office, before going down to eat it by the river, just along from Blackfriar’s Bridge, sitting in the sun and hanging out. Lovely.

I was back in Kirkby in time to get in a run up to Hutton Roof, following the limestone pavement and then the ‘Telegraph Road’.

On the way back down, I saw this huge aeroplane moving through the sky. Common sense and physics dictate that it must have been going pretty fast in order to stay in the air, but from the ground it’s progress looked incredibly leisurely as it banked and flew up the Lune Valley.

Once I’d freshened up, Dan and I went down into town for beers and pizza at The Royal Barn, and then to watch the football in the Snooty Fox, finishing up in the King’s Arms, where we had the jukebox to ourselves :-)
