100

SATURDAY

Today was their big day. This week they both had "big" birthdays and, their combined ages officially totalled 100.

It was party time and we catered for twenty-odd guests. Harriet and George made thirty fresh pizzas (to specific orders using a wide variety of toppings), along with salads, Harriet's home-baked scones, and home baked cakes.

The party was a great success, though Harriet and George were on their feet all day (from 8:00 am). I was in charge of setting up chairs, tables, and the parasol, hanging up the bunting, running the dishwasher, sorting the recycling, making teas and coffees—and squeezing in a few games of hide and seek and clocked up 18,000 steps.

Amazingly, it stayed dry all day, so the gazebo wasn’t needed.

By the time the last guests  left at 10:00 p.m., we were all completely worn out.

I didn't make Parkrun this morning!
