You Light Up My Life
Not the plasterers.
They turned up sometime after 08.30 .... after I went outside and flagged them down on their 3rd trip along the street.
What is so hard about looking at the house numbers and seeing from the first 6 houses that the sequence goes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 ....... and stopping outside the number you are looking for?
We went out at 11am for a drink and cake - simply to get away from the constant string of expletives. There was nothing apparently nothing wrong - it was just how they talked (very loudly) to each other.
We went to the new(ish) cafe up the road and were luck enough to get a window table overlooking the woods. I liked the reflections and the way the wind was whipping the trees - so I took pictures. I also took pictures of the lights which attracted me with their abstract patterns (6 pictures Over Here).
We got home and the expletives continued.
Another excuse to get out was to go and buy something for lunch.
When we told the mouths we were nipping out they said they would be finished in about 1/2 an hour. I asked about them returning tomorrow but was told 'No' ... they were finished -- which came as a bit of a surprise as the plaster is brown as opposed to white ... like the rest of the house!
As we got home they were just driving off.
After lunch I wrote my list of complaints for Lee the fitter, who should be returning tomorrow to fit the correct tap and the 2 remaining cupboard doors.
My list includes things like the lumps of plaster that have been left all over the place, all the 'runs' of dirty plaster water down all the walls, the things that had been put outside in the pouring rain and are now in the bin, the damage to the handle on the brand new built-in microwave oven. That sort of thing!
