One of those days..

I did think he looked sweet after he stole my hanky and cuddled up with it, despite it being a bit annoying when I wanted to blow my nose!
Very draining day, Ben had carers and had been whinging about it all the day before. He was up at 5:15 and still whinging.  I talked him around at breakfast and he agreed to go but then I had to keep upbeat and positive for the next few hours, trying to keep him on track and 'ready'.  This was derailed when one of them was 30 minutes late (not his fault, it was management double booking him) and gradually Ben's resolve to go evaporated.  By the time the late carer arrived, Ben ran into the house and slammed the door.  All understandable but so frustrating.  He was supposed to go at 10am and I had a care planning meeting at 10:30am.. I rang the social worker to explain and they just had to wait for me.  I sat with Ben until he processed it all and was cajoled into going and then managed to log on to the call only 15 mins late.  I was seriously frazzled though and not remotely prepared for the call, I had done some lists the day before but had foolishly been expecting to have a few minutes to collect myself after Ben had gone and before the call started.. sigh.  So I felt on the back foot and then got emotional when they were talking about him leaving his current school and was embarrassed.. if only I'd had my hanky!!  Anyway it was fine, I pulled myself together and got through all the questions I had prepped yesterday.  I have a few more meetings scheduled in and I feel like the look of it all is starting to take shape.  Still, one day at a time.. although Ben's talking about it non-stop, today's issues are whether he should change his address on any paperwork and when he can find out more about the other teenager who currently lives there.  And inevitably every time I pick up my phone he thinks it's something to do with him and gets really anxious, so I'm spending a lot of time having to own up to how much I flick around on Instagram!
Also, he did wordle in 2 today!  He's a funny and complex little sausage :-)
