A Useful Day
As my sister is still recovering from being very unwell, I didn’t see her today. She is improving slowly, but it’s taking time to regain her strength. I was out all morning running a number of errands, so I didn’t waste the day. The gardener came and cut the grass, which makes both the front and the back of the house look a lot better. However, I now owe him two lots of money - I’d really rather pay each time, but he doesn’t do online payment so it’ll have to wait until I see him in person (whenever that is).
I’ve just started laying dust sheets over the new bedroom carpet in readiness for the wardrobe flatpack delivery tomorrow morning. I have to be ready for them to arrive from 7am onwards, and won’t get any better idea of actual timings until they send a message at 6.30am enabling me to track the lorry. I’m hoping they’ll get here as early as possible, so that I can still go along to St Luke’s - it will be Ascension Day and we’ll be blowing bubbles to represent Christ going up to heaven. Childish I know, but I have actually got a little bottle of bubbles to take along - I know how to inject excitement into my life!
My somewhat “natural” garden always manages to produce something new and unexpected, and today’s surprise was finding some wild roses growing up quite tall among the shrubs (see photo) - prettier than the usual rubbish which has been taking advantage of the near total neglect. Talking of neglect, I’ve added an Extra from this morning of the yellow rose by the front door which is truly excelling itself at the moment.
