Wanderings and meanders

Aysgarth Falls

Yorkshire Dales National Park

We spent the morning at Parcevall Hall Gardens, a really nice mix of woodland with rhododendron and azaleas, along with formal terraced gardens and a viewpoint up at the top looking out over the Dales. We disturbed a deer and listened to numerous bird calls.

A detour to Linton Falls, which B said were very low compared to their usual level. Then on to Aysgarth Falls, which were also apparently very low. B was reminiscing about visiting the falls and other locations across the Dales, it was nice to hear about her childhood holidays.

As we weren't too far we carried on to Bedale to give J an opportunity to reminisce too. Really nice wander around in the afternoon sunshine.

Back to Harrogate and thankfully in to the Mucky Duck for food when a torrential shower darkened the skies and rain bounced off the windows. It brightened so we took A for a walk around the Stray before going separate ways for the evening. We must have had good timing as another torrential downpour started about ten minutes after I'd got in and made a cup of tea.
