Ice Plant

My orthopedic appointment was at 9:00 this morning. Hubby went with me. After x-rays and the exam, the doc diagnosed planter’s fasciitis. That’s good news I guess. But there’s no quick fix. She gave me two different braces. The more complicated one is supposed to stretch the muscle or tendon (can’t remember which) behind my leg to reduce the inflammation in my plantar fascia. Got this from the Mayo Clinic web site: ”The plantar fascia is a band of tissue, called fascia, that connects your heel bone to the base of your toes. It supports the arch of the foot and absorbs shock when walking. Tension and stress on the fascia can cause small tears. Repeated stretching and tearing of the facia can irritate or inflame it, although the cause remains unclear in many cases of plantar fasciitis.” Turns out, it is pretty common. My sister, BIL and both of my daughters have suffered with it. Maybe some of you have as well. We picked up meds, groceries and I had a salad at Firehouse subs. After putting away groceries, I planted 20 more onion sets and snapped this photo by my driveway. Hubby decided to trim all the shrubs in the formal garden. I tried out the new brace on the recliner. I am so tired of limping around! Just not my style. Dinner will be last night’s leftovers. We are expecting storms this evening. Hubby needs help putting the deer fence back around my tiger lilies. We forgot to cover them after the HVAC tech left. Hope the deer didn’t show up. Wishing you an enjoyable weekend. Stay safe. We had another fatal auto accident near by this morning. Thanks for visiting. "In the realm of symbolism, the Ice plant's ability to prosper with scant water parallels human resilience. It's a living metaphor for enduring through hardships…” - Greg App
