Box Turtle

We had storms last night. There was a huge water spout on the Potomac and reports of a tornado not far from my sister’s home. Have not heard a news update about any damage today. Another big Saturday for our crew. I was up by 6:30. Took care of several little house tasks. Hubby went to the post office (twice) for me. They said the tracking number we had for my package of spices belonged to another shipment and the recipients received their package. The vendor says that tracking number belongs to my package only. Bottom line is that my package is lost. Originally, they were refunding my money. This afternoon they sent me a text saying I need to take the issue to the original manufacturer. I am quite frustrated with the entire situation. I personally think the post office delivered my package to someone else and won’t admit their mistake. It took all morning to get nothing accomplished except for causing us to miss Madi’s graduation party. Anyhoo, I made 20 fresh fruit cups for Chase’s party. Hubby trimmed more shrubs in the formal garden and raked up/discarded all the clippings. During one visit to check his progress, I found this turtle hiding in one of my gardens. We got to Chase’s party a little late. I put photos from the party in my extra. You will not see Chase in the photos. He cannot deal with crowds of people so he was in his room all day. Kristen outdid herself with her Mexican themed buffet. The cookies and cake were adorable. All of our family who were in town were there. The weather was chilly but at least we had no rain. Kim and Brooklyn are in Ocean City for a soccer game. It takes 3.5 hours to get there. After 18 minutes of play, a huge thunderstorm rolled in with heavy rain, thunder, lightning and hail. The game was cancelled. They are having a girls night out with other players/parents. We came home; my foot needed a rest - over 8,000 steps was too many. Jamie’s family has a second graduation party not far from our neighborhood to attend. There will be fireworks so hubby and I are going to Jamie’s to comfort the pups at sundown. Raven is terrified of loud noises. We’ll have had a long day when we get back home. Wishing you a quieter weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “Behold the turtle.
