Homeward Bound
It’s been a good few days exploring the Brecon Beacons and visiting the Hay festival but it’s now time to head home.
The first stage of my journey takes me from my accommodation at Bwylch to my SiL and her husband’s lodge, where I commenced this trip, so I can return my key. C has booked the three of us lunch at the Charlton Arms at nearby Ludlow, which is en-route home for me, so after a coffee and a chat we head there.
An excellent lunch on the terrace overlooking the River Teme, fresh spring greens linguine is not standard pub fare. After lunch a short walk into the centre (Ludlow is one of the loveliest towns in England), before returning and saying our goodbyes.
I am home by late afternoon. I’ve enjoyed my time away, but I’m very much looking forward to some time at home, and even relaxing a bit. April and May have been a bit mad.
NB. I took this image as we approached the old bridge over the Teme. The residents on this stretch have done a fantastic job of greening up the corridor. Looking through the passageways there seem to be some very large and beautiful gardens at their backs, a secret world.
