Cattle, wildflowers
and a bluebird caught my full
attention today

~carliewired

I was out the door at 6:30 with Rose Hill Road on my mind. It's a rather cloudy morning with low light and a little breeze. It should be cooler today and we may see some showers.

I started from the north end of Rose Hill Road making a stop at the first rise for a look to the downtown. Those emerging towers are making quite a statement in the city.

I was delighted to find wide expanses of lupines blooming on all the slopes. Some bright yellow balsamroot could be found on the shady, cooler areas. Cattle roamed the open range. I found two lovely ladies nestled in lupines.

My surprise was catching a bluebird on a fencepost. It wasn't the best portrait but I was happy it waited for me to get the shot.

On my way back down into the city, I stopped on the Merritt Highway for a look across at my mountains. I could just see the tops of them.

I'm home for the day. Might spend some time on office files in preparation for next week.
