We worried about
rain and mosquitoes, but the
day was marvelous!

We were a threesome off to high tea in Salmon Arm today. My daughter drove my car and we picked up a dear friend, G, to treat her as part of her June birthday gift.

The drive takes us along the South Thompson River and the Shuswap Lake to Salmon Arm. The forecast suggested rain and we remembered the voracious mosquitoes from the last tea. We came prepared, but the day delighted us with good weather and we were free of pests.

Haney Park is a collection of heritage buildings collected from the region to form what is called "The Heritage Village". It makes a lovely setting for this annual event. Tents cover the tables so we have no fears of inclement weather.

As before, volunteers took care of us at our table arriving with pots of hot water and plates of lovely edibles. We were treated to a fashion show featuring the work and designs of a local quilter, a story teller and a musician.

By 3 PM we were back on the highway and heading for home. It was a lovely afternoon spent with two wonderful women in my life.
