Daily visit

Whiston Hospital. I can barely face updating re Terry today as it's just another list of crap care. He does seem to be getting a bit better. He finally got his clexane at around 11pm yesterday - 5 hours late.
Today he was like a pin cushion as they were having trouble siting a new cannula and also getting blood. Eventually she managed it though.
He had showered this morning and seemed to manage it somewhat better. His film dressings on his heels had rolled up and were stuck to the backs of his legs and his bootees needed putting back on. I didn't bother asking anyone to do it - if they had been inclined they would have already done it. I asked for 2 film dressings and did them myself then popped his bootees on.
The new milk shakes for twice a day at lunch and teatime - he got one at 2pm which was a good time. Then the second one never materialised and he won't ask for it (it's one more thing he should not have to nag for, and which is prescribed so should be given) - since he already lost so much weight it's annoying that this was missed.
The nurse came to give his clexane at 6pm but he said that it's too early as he only had yesterday's at 11pm so she came back at 7pm to give it. The nurse said she didn't know why he is such a high dose. Terry said, "I do, I've got a blood clot." "Oh!" she replied.
If this is the standard of nursing I'm ecstatic to be retired as I'd be doing my nut at some of these nurses.
Had a visit from my son John today as he was working in Warrington so bobbed over to see me and buy us a chippy tea. It was good to see him - he lives in Derby.
