Purple
A sunny day today but the wind is cool. We had our usual Monday morning sing concentrating mainly on songs for our 10th anniversary concert in September, part of Bradford 25.
Country File was from Bradford last night because of the year of Culture, it featured art works on the moors near Haworth and concentrated Bradford’s history of wool production from sheep on these moors. Its new status of having a Gateway National Nature Reserve in this ( our) locality was mentioned. It was very interesting. It featured a very good a Capella choir singing up on the moor too. It was lead by the guy who okayed base in Chumba Wumba? and they wrote their own songs!
No shopping today as we are away for couple of days but church choir practice still to come early this evening.
Just did a quick scan around the garden when we got home to find my blip. There are quite a lot of Cornflowers blooming at the moment in the back garden. I particularly like this one for it’s deep colour. In the front most of the Alliums are over but this one is shorter and produces a later, bigger flower. Missed the others when they were at this lovely opening up stage so I’ve chosen it too.
In the background the pretty purple geraniums are coming to the fore in this border.
Doesn't sound like we’ll see much flaming June this week.
