Today's the day ....................... to put on a show

The municipal flower beds in the centre of Kirkcudbright are looking very different these days from the regimented planting of salvias, begonias and the like, that the Council used to do.

They have been handed over to the Community - and now a band of volunteers look after the lupins, red hot pokers, marguerites and other perennials, that have taken the place of the annuals.  It makes much more sense to do it this way because once the perennials have filled out, they will more or less look after themselves.

And they do make a spectacular show ......................
