Now, as I see it......

A Herculean effort

A wet day but the garden appreciates it.  We had been due to go to a talk in town this morning but got a phone call we had been waiting for just as we were leaving the house, so missed the talk.  We had a coffee and cake in town instead which was very nice but doesn't help the diet.

By mid afternoon I was Blipless so headed out to the railway to see if I could spot anything.  I knew that an old railbus from the 1960's had arrived yesterday so thought I might see it, but it wasn't in view anywhere.  I was just in time to see this though; 'Hercules' heading towards Weybourne from Sheringham with the last train of the day.

Just as an aside,  I knew I'd seen and photographed a railbus back in the late 1960's at Grosmont on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway before that line had opened to passengers and wondered if it was the same one that had arrived here.  I found my old photos taken with my Kodak Instamatic 200 and did a bit of research.  It's not the same one but I discovered that the one I photographed is now on the Swindon and Cricklade Railway undergoing restoration.  I decided to send copies of the three photos to them and they were really pleased to see them, even suggesting they might start something on their social media channels to see if they can trace any more pictures.  I've added one of them as an extra, so long as Blip will allow me to add a photo which is around 57 years old!
