Eye to Eye

Gentian Blue …

… is such a vibrant colour especially on a dull and sometimes rainy day. These are the spring gentians and they are the first to appear after the snow melt. In the background is Lake Salanfe which is so low the water looks like mud! In the mountain hut I was told that the water is becoming lower every year after the winter. From here I continued on to the Col de Jorat hoping to see some bouquetin. There were  just a few, including 3 youngsters, playing around in the cliffs above the path seemingly unaware of the drop below in extra, and a second extra of a very old male in the forest below with a GPS around his neck and a number on his ear! Someone must be studying him and no doubt other bouquetin. I have never seen this before and can’t find anything on the internet that indicates this happens here.

Flower Friday, for once I made it! Thanks for hosting BikerBear.

Have a great weekend everyone.
