Puddle

I had dressed appropriately for the rain as I left the house. Which as it turned out didn't last long. We went on to have all four seasons in the walk to work hour early this morning, so it seemed. It had just hit the start of the warming up (relatively speaking) of the day when I was regretting having my full wet weather gear on but I was only five minutes from work when I realised this puddle was there! 

I then reminded myself that if we've had a sudden short sharp shower of rain, there are several points where our local drains don't cope and such puddles are regular occurrences. I have been saved in the past from a complete drenching from operators of vehicles who either don't see such puddles soon enough to slow down, or those who think it's fun to drench innocent passers by, by wearing my full wet weather gear. 

On this occasion, I did decide to cross the road to avoid the puddle completely. Which turned out to be a wise decision.
