Glenfinnan
Much nicer weather greeted us this morning so we decided to take a trip over to Glenfinnan. Stuart opted for a bike ride whilst Libda had a quiet day as she started coughing and wasn’t feeling a 109%. She’s been on antibiotics for the last couple of weeks due to an infected tick bite so is a little below par anyway, poor thing.
It was quite busy at Glenfinnan but we were able to walk round the monument to Price Charlie and find a picnic table to have our sandwiches after we walked to the viaduct and Gouda spot to watch the Jacobite steam train go past. We’ve seen it before so weren’t too disappointed when we realised there was a diesel engine pulling the numerous carriages but I suspect the many tourists might have felt a little short changed!
Met up with Stuart and Linda on the beach for an hour or two to blow away a few cobwebs before getting ready to walk into Arisaig for dinner at the hotel. The walk rather took it out of Linda but she managed a bit of dinner. I enjoyed my mussels and fish and chips although a couple of the mussels could have done with a bit more growing!
A pleasant walk back with one very tired out dg who went straight to his bed!
Thanks to dbifulco for hosting TinyTuesday.
