Mangersta driftwood
We expanded our number to three today when walkingMarj arrived to join us on holiday in Uig on the Isle of Lewis. Until Saturday, she is staying in a pod about seven miles along the road from us. She will then take over our current accommodation at Baile-na-Cille for a week after we head home.
So far together we have eaten, played games, and chatted (a lot). Over the next couple of days we are looking forward to more of the same, plus walking and possibly swimming. It's going to very warm tomorrow, so perhaps that's the day that we will all take a dip.
While walkingMarj was settling into her accommodation this afternoon, Mr hazelh and I took a wander along the beach at Mangersta. I was rather taken by this long piece of driftwood. We also tried to change the course of a stream so that it would run all the way to the shoreline. Unfortunately our walking boots don't make very useful spades.
All day I have felt haunted by the book that I have just finished reading: Wife by Charlotte Mendelson. It's very good, but rather disturbing due its portrayal of a truly monstrous, bullying, narcissistic, academic.
Exercise today: small amount of walking.
