Busy Day

A volunteer guarding turn for me today.   The weather forecast was disappointingly spot on.   I got the set ready under cover while it was dry.   As we were ready to go, the rain started - spot the dark clouds approaching!   For the loading at Tywyn Wharf the rain was torrential and while it brightened a little as we set off, I was torrential again when we stopped for our lunch at Abergynolwyn.   Thankfully my waterproof is water proof.   The trains were busy, the Slate Trail special was almost fully booked out, to a coach party.   They arrived late which nearly put a spanner in the works and made for an exceptionally busy lunchtime for the staff at Aber Cafe as the visitors were all very hungry.  We arrived on the tail of that maelstrom .... I think I am glad I wasn't working there today but I do actually like to be busy.  Chris came up on the train, his birthday treat and I bought ... and cooked ... his lunch!

A wet run back to Tywyn and the rain continued until evening.  Chris came to mine for tea setting off to call on a friend as I went out to pottery.   For a change I didn't make anything - shock, horror!   I helped load a kiln of greenware that is now being bisque fired and continued my sort out of the oxides.   There was also a fair bit of chat :-)   Finally, as the clouds broke to reveal a bit of watery sunset, Meg and I had a walk along the estuary path.  Think I'll sleep well tonight.
