Love in a Mist

A very hot day today. I planted my new Astrantia and dotted around the next plot of land are lot's of these Nigella plants known as Love in a Mist. Such a complex but pretty looking flower, I thought they made a good macro shot for Flower Friday.
I didn’t have any of these until Grace moved to their current house in Bath. They pop up all over the place, which on Graces’s terrace aren’t always welcome, but I pinched some seeds a couple of years ago so they’ve joined my other ‘pop up’ plants, Forget me Nots and Erigeron Daisies and I love them all. 
They have pretty much stayed where I sprinkled the seeds though some may get pulled out when I remove the dead Forget me Nots but I’m happy as long as I get some coming up each year.

Book group this morning, not many people there today and the book was universally disliked by all as being both implausible as a story and basically weird! Our next book is by Muriel Sparks and everyone seemed pleased it was a short one!

Thunder storms predicted over night which always seems to happen when we get short spells of summer. Happy Friday everyone!.
