St Emilion deserves its reputation

Anyone visiting Bordeaux has an almost obligatory duty to visit St Emilion, the famous wine growing area to the east.  And for me living on the 45th parallel south in one of New Zealand's best wine growing areas, visiting anywhere on the 45th parallel north is a complete pleasure. 

The beautiful little medieval village and its surrounding green verdant grape-growing areas did not disappoint.  The whole experience was a complete delight, and at a whole 4.5 euro for the return bus trip from Bordeaux it will be the best 4.5euro I spend anywhere this year.  No question !!
