Monkeying Around For Triangulation At Golden Hour
We had a pretty quiet day today - just a stroll back down to our local, The Chequers, for a spot of lunch and a pint before returning home to watch highlights of the Chelsea Flower Show. I do find viewing all that horticultural wonder on display really uplifting but on the flip side it does leave me feeling somewhat downcast about my almost total lack of gardening skills (back in the mists of time I seem to have somehow been designated sole gardening responsibilities in our household) and the unkempt state of our own garden - I sometimes try to kid myself that I'm encouraging wildlife by leaving it relatively unfettered but if I'm totally honest with myself it's much more wild than life!
Today's image was taken on a later evening stroll, with camera in tow, just as golden hour was making its presence felt. At this time of the day on our estate, as I may have mentioned in a previous blip, it feels like you have to chase the light around if you're trying to get an image. In this instance the evening sun was alighting on some triangular shaped monkey bars in one of our local playgrounds so I thought I would experiment and try to make it into my shot for today.
Initially I wasn't particularly happy with the result but after some photographic monkeying around I found that when I pushed the contrast it brought out the colours and the golden light that I was trying to capture.
