Busy bees

This buff-tailed bumblebee was busily investigating the Salvia ‘Pink Pong’ in our garden this morning. 

He wasn’t the only one who was busy today. Smithers and I have done our usual double act in the kitchen, preparing and serving lunch for the family, after we’d watched our church service online this morning. We are now absolutely worn out, and amazed at a) how much our middle son can eat*, and b) how much energy 5 and 7 year olds have.

Oh, and my lemon meringue pie and Smithers’ banana cake went down well with everyone, I’m pleased to say.

*His second helpings are much bigger than our first helpings.
