An outing with a
friend to fabulous paintings
to view together

My usual jaunt was delayed today. I picked up my friend, M , at 10 AM so we could view the magnificent paintings by our mutual friend, Debbie Lively.

The show  was set up in the old courthouse building downtown. This collection began when Debbie was asked to creatively document vintage houses in our west end. These houses were mostly in decline and were to be removed to make way for large towers to be constructed in their place.

Debbie began with her own photos and hours of research before she began to paint. The paintings are large and feature the old homes in different seasons. She has captured the light and shadow superbly. Each painting is like a walk down the street when the houses were in their prime. There are 20 paintings in the show and they will be placed in the lobby area of the new towers as a tribute to the history of Kamloops.  My photos of them do not do them justice.

M and I were delighted to view this collection. We sat and enjoyed them before stepping out into a thunder shower.

I'm home for the day and will enjoy it quietly.
