I hope for sunshine

I was on my way at 6:30 wondering where to go on this soggy morning. The news announced a snow warning on our upper levels highways. We are in a cooling trend which is good for the forest fire hazard.

I drove into McArthur Island Park, which was rather quiet. The rain is keeping attendance down.

As I stopped beside the Butterfly Garden, a regular in the park paused to tell me that the Canada geese brood of 19 lost 6 this past week. As much as the geese are aggressive, they cannot defend their goslings against everything that would prey on them. I took two portraits of geese families for remembrance.

I walked across the foot bridge for a look into the slough, then got my shot of my mountains looking across the slough. All is in sombre greys.

I added some colour with some blossoms in the Butterfly Garden.

As I drove around to the south side of the park I noted that some public event was being set up by the recreation centre. The hum of activity there must account for the lack of marmots in that area. So, no amusing marmots were available to me.

I'm home and will spend it with my radio and sewing machine.
