1214 day of war
Hello, friends!
This week there were fewer attacks, and we were able to get some rest and even sleep a few nights without air raid alarms. In the country, there’s less talk about negotiations, and it feels like everything is on pause — the war isn’t moving toward an end. I try not to dwell on it too much and instead focus on how to make this time better and notice small beautiful things in life, even under difficult conditions.
The news makes me sad. It's really upsetting that in our time, war has become something normal — just an ordinary way to solve problems. From the perspective of regular people, war always looks like the worst thing imaginable, because it truly is terrifying. Living with the awareness that you have no idea what will happen to you tomorrow is incredibly hard. And this is not something that should ever be seen as normal in our time. I still have hope that this will really come to an end and that we don't need a repeat of World War II to understand that war is not a solution and not a way to solve problems.
Right now, we don’t have much work, so I’ve been able to dedicate more time to dyeing, household tasks, and helping my father with his website. It seems to take up all my time — I realized I’ve done a lot this week, but I don’t feel very tired. Summer helps emotionally, no matter the situation. In our free time, we go for walks in the park near our home, and next week we’re planning a bike trip to the pond.
I just got an order for a couple of T-shirts and a tapestry, so I’m trying to stay productive while dreaming of a mountain getaway. The photo shows my latest tapestry — the largest one I’ve ever made.
It’s still pretty hard to organize a trip, but I already have some experience and I’ll do everything I can to make it happen. As always, it’s difficult to find train tickets, because only one train in that direction passes through our town. I’ve also never gone on a full-day hike before, so I’m trying to plan everything thoroughly so that we can make it happen. Even though it's hard right now, I feel like everything is going well.
Thank you all for your support, and thank you for the help on Buy Me a Coffee — it really helps a lot. I’m truly grateful!
