Valleys and Flowers

This morning, I took a bus to Sils-Maria and walked upwards; first into the valley Val Fex (which is very popular, and the path soon became as congested as yesterday‘s), and then over a little ridge into Val Fedoz. It’s another one of the less spectacular places and also without a restaurant at the end, so it was much less crowded there. But I still met quite a lot of people on the hiking path.

It’s understandable, because the valley is full of flowers, especially of the alpenrose, which isn’t really a rose but a small and bushy species of rhododendron.

I enjoyed the walk a lot, despite the ongoing heatwave. For part of my way, I felt a cooling breeze from the famous Maloja Wind. Just the last part, through forests back in the main valley, was really hot and unpleasant.

I am adding a couple of extras again, with impressions of the walk, the flowers, and some living obstacles in my way.
