Recycling and upcycling
Steve brought me a cup of tea and the un-good news about the bombing of Iran. I thought of my Afghani friends who were born, or lived, in Iran.
All in all I was in a bit of a funk and not in the mood for creative efforts, so I had a bath and then set about clearing some stuff in the sitting room, with a bit of help from Steve. That left some dust and cobwebs exposed, and piles of stuff waiting to go out in various directions. This was the scene that GG walked in to, but we managed to watch a film anyway (a weepie about fostering and adoption called Instant Family) and have lunch.
After GG left, I did some dusting and polishing, then V came round because I’d offered her some more sewing requisites.Fortunately I had some machine cotton in the exact colour she wanted! We chatted then I excused myself because I really wanted to get back upstairs to the craft zone.
Hours passed, and I rearranged the cupboards yet again because I’d freed up some more storage containers downstairs! I also tinkered around making more fridge magnets out of found objects, things I paper crafted years ago, or old badges. Got the laminator and glue gun out today for the first time in years.
And now, sadly, it’s bedtime and tomorrow is Monday. But at least I’ll have a sanctuary/craft room to write and make things in when I come home from work.
