Beauty bush

The stars of the show today were the Satomi dogwoods, but this beauty bush is stunning too.
The homeowner wanted to take a photo of the crew in front of the beauty bush, then she misplaced her phone. So she used my phone and I emailed the photo to her.
Fortunately the clouds hung around most of the day and they kept the temperature comfortable. We are going to start work earlier tomorrow and hopefully finish earlier. The forecast high for tomorrow is 27 C and 29 C for Wednesday.
I am hoping they will be able to cut sod by Thursday. I need some for a job on Friday. Between Thursday and Friday, I want to get things planted, the new bed mulched and then soil and sod put down. The company that did the walkway on the property is not allowed to come back. They were unhappy because we did the soil for the new garden bed. So they delayed doing the sod. As a result my client had enough of their delays and asked me to take over. I have to put the finishing touches on the walkway because they did not put any edging strips on. I call it a rookie mistake. The company that did the walkway did a good job, except for the finish. The only reason they got the job was because the owner is friends with the general contractor who is doing the other renovations. Normally that company does lawn mowing, but they want to get into doing walkways and patios too.

And the homeowner for the job we did on Thursday sent me a nice comment today. They are enjoying seeing the different blooms in the back yard (which I planted last fall), and now they will get to see color in their front yard too. They said I am welcome to visit 'my' garden anytime.

I booked the bus trip to Quebec City this afternoon.
