Sharing
Volunteering today, for a while in a steady drizzle. I worked in the polytunnel. In last week’s heat it reached 40 degrees in there. So there was much to be done now it is cooler - weeding, cutting back excess foliage and tying in rapidly growing plants. The chilli’s, basil, tomatoes and cucumbers are thriving.
It was nice to have a bunch of us gather at tea break and share conversations. I’m learning lots about horticulture and related subjects. One of the gardeners brought in some creeping thyme for us to share amongst us. I’ve got some to plant at the allotment as ground cover. Cake today was a tasty apple and sultana bake.
Later at home I made the first batch of blackcurrant cordial and left it to strain overnight, ready to be bottled the following day.
My best wishes to you and hoping your day is a good one.
