Changeable Weather

Who would have thought that I would be sitting in the sunshine beside the Pier Art Centre licking an ice cream and looking out over the harbour when I was trudging to the slip in mist and light drizzle this morning.

In fact it looked such a miserable day that I decided to have a coffee in Flori’s and a session in the library. The thing about Flori’s with its tiny indoor space is that you are really forced to strike up a conversation with anyone else present. Today a couple from Canberra sat opposite me and I heard about their 6 weeks of travelling through Wales, Ireland and Orkney. They are away to Edinburgh on the ferry this afternoon. I have warned them!.

We passed a very interesting hour before I made it to the library and an encounter with Andy Murray in his autobiographical book about the run up to his Wimbledon win in 2013 (I think).

The sun suddenly appeared at lunchtime as did my longing for yet another ice cream. I may have eaten more Ice creams in the past Month than in the whole of last year.

I really liked this window display in the Northlight Gallery as I walked to my Flat White at Flori’s.
