Knäckebröd

I've fallen love with Swedish ryebread.  Such a wonderfully versatile food it accompanies most meals here, and sometimes IS the meal with a range of tasty toppings.  Somewhat similar to the ubiquitous basket of bread in France.

I can buy it at home but there is no variety, and what is on offer is no comparison to what I've had here.  There are whole supermarket aisles full of knäckebröd !! 

My best way to get it back home will be via the new IKEA store due to open in Auckland in late 2025.  I can see mail order packages regularly winging their way south to Wānaka.
