Trying to keepcup this office business

I allowed myself a bit of a lie-in today, partly on account of it being Phriday but mainly on account of needing to not be traffic jamming my way to the office at the precise time of 9 of the King's Hours, because I had to be first(ish) in the online queue for a pair of high-demand tickets.  I was successful!

I still wasn't feeling very bright though and with my late start I decided to motorbike it to work, hastily unpacking carefully prepared bicycle panniers into other bags.  I was surprised at how Sensei Africa Twin felt: since Holz with bestie I'd only made one desultory potter to Mum and Dad's.  The bike felt more lithe and airy than it had done for a long time, as though it'd had a good old clearing out of the lungs.  Perhaps smashing out 1400 miles in ten days was what it had really needed.

I, meanwhile, felt nothing like so energised and after so much e-mailing and document drafting I was glad when lunchtime arrived.  Random Colleague was in though so we had lunch together, and a late afternoon break as well since we were both up to our eyeballs.  I did a bit more work after but had a proper headache coming on, so called it a day and puttered home, making sure to ride up the Cowgate and let Sensei's engine reverberate loudly under the great arches of the South Bridge and George IV Bridge.  The rain and gales arrived en route so I was more than glad I'd not cycled.

Some meds have helped my head since then, so that was the week that was, and I have a dinner plate of a brake rotor to attempt to fit to Fidra this weekend.

Unrelatedly, today marks ten years since bass supremo Chris Squire of Yes passed away. RIP Chris. Never forgotten.
