Crazy nights and lazy days

After a long, late night video chat with lovely bestie I had a long sleep and a reasonable lie in, and a very lazy morning befitting a Saturday. I did some reading of Fidra's Haynes manual, trying to absorb the usual how-to-do-this and but-first-do-this and that and another thing, the kind of nested approach where you have to take the engine out to get at the bolts that let you take the engine out.

After some logistical research for future events (per yesterday's tickets) it was lunchtime and blowing a gale outside. A trip to Halfords was needed for some supplies before I went unbolting things, but I also had to wait in for a parcel delivery. Eventually I headed out, bought the essentials and then the other essentials of milk and bread.

Returning home I was able to fit new insoles to my motorbike boots. The originals turned out to be wafer thin and already coming apart! It's possibly no wonder my heel became incredibly painful after Holz, with all that incidental walking. Well, Dr Scholl has a thing or two to say about crappy insoles. Fingers (or perhaps toes) crossed that they solve the problem.

There wasn't time to unpack the garage so I computed for a while, made tea, and then fixed some seized bolts on Mirabel's brake calipers so that I could adjust the cable tension and have the brakes work properly again.

Little M strolled in at teatime and made herself comfortable for a good hour or more.
