Off camping again
Sunday
This morning, we set off for a few days camping in our travel trailer/caravan at West Branch State Park in the north of the state, east of Akron, about 4 hours drive, or a bit more towing a camper. It’s not an ideal time to be going away, as whilst it is supposed to be dry, we are at the beginning of a heatwave, with temperatures even in the north of the state topping out at 92 or 93 F (34C)! However, our camper has air conditioning, our pitch has a lot of trees around for shade, and we also have a fan we can use outside, so we’ll survive! Our journey went pretty well, except for all the roadworks going through Columbus, and we reached our destination at about 4pm., checked in, filled the tank with water, and set up at our pitch, which fortunately was nice and level. Having got all set up, we had the inevitable cup of tea, and then went for a drive around, to get our bearings. It is a large park, based around a large lake, so boating is a popular activity, and we have brought our kayaks and bikes with us. Having checked out the campground boat dock area, (top two photos) and come across a nice little flat gravel beach type area, which we decided would be good for putting in our kayaks, we headed back to the camper and had dinner.
