A new venue for book group

The main event of the day was our first ever book group meeting in Ridgeback13's new abode - and what an abode it is! We all loved the amazing space, fabulous views, and wonderful outdoor spaces. We also soon understood Ridgeback13's eagerness to upgrade her 'new' kitchen.

As well as the usual swag of fizz and a box of Maltesers, I set off with Winsford for Ridgeback13's house with a heavy housewarming present tucked inside my shopping trolley. Ridgeback13 was delighted with my acquisition of 6th June

While we were all at Ridgeback13's house, Mr hazelh hosted a barbecue for Richard, Jon, Brian, and Paddy - plus a last minute addition to the party: the husband of an extra guest at book group! J&D have come from California to stay with Ridgeback13 as part of their summer holiday. They both used to work for Mr hazelh's old company, and D and Mr hazelh soon found that they shared 'old' friends and colleagues.

Earlier in the day, I prepared overnight accommodation for LauraMuir and Winsford, rehung some pictures with Mr hazelh (following our rearrangement of furniture in the sitting room and study), made lists (so much to do!), worked on Mummy hazelh admin (hoping that our number 1 choice of new care home can take her), and gardened a little.

My blip shows the table at book group just before we took our places for our first course. The main course features in Ridgeback13's blip, and Winsford captured LauraMuir and me (plus the shopping trolley) on our walk back home through Granton tunnel.

Thank you to Winsford for lending me her phone to take my photograph, having left my own phone back at home charging on the kitchen counter.

Oh, and the book was Summerwater by Sarah Moss. I loved it, as did Emma who was not at our meeting. The others at the table were not so keen.

Exercise today: walking (15,299 steps).
